The luxury limousine SUVs with six-digit price tags are nothing new, but the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 brings the ultra-luxurious touch of the famous brand to the market to fight with brands like Bentley and Rolls-Royce. The GLS600 is loaded to the gills with elegant features and its attractive yet eye-catching exterior will leave no doubt about the level of wealth or celebrity you enjoy. Do not plan to take the whole family with you, as the Maybach version of the GLS Class offers only two rows of seats instead of three, but plan to bring your tiara with jewels, your Patek Philippe wristwatch with diamond inlays and a pair of Dom Pérignon bottles to relax in the GLS600’s wine cooler.
The Maybach version of this new GLS-Class SUV has been in process for some time, and will be SUV’s offer from the ultra luxury division when it goes on sale in the second half of 2020, joining Maybach’s s-class in dealerships .
> GLS600: $ 300,000.
Interior, comfort and charging
While the regular SUV of the GLS Class of the Benz brand is a three-row affair, the Maybach GLS600 offers only two rows, which offer heat and massage functions. The rear seats are the place to be; with acres of legroom and two electrically adjustable reclining seats, traveling on the back is similar to traveling in the most luxurious first-class air cabins. We also offer a Bank of three crosses, but come on, the executive treatment is what this SUV is all about. Napa leather covers the board, door panels and seats, while real wood trim with a beautiful pin strip adds a touch of class. A fragrance diffuser helps occupants create the sensory oasis they deserve after a hard day of being very rich. The load capacity will not be as generous here as it is in the regular GLS Class as the rear seats are fixed and do not fold to accommodate larger items. Mercedes-Maybach says that there is still about 19 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and will offer a beautiful set of custom luggage.
Infotainment and connectivity
Dual 12.3-inch infotainment displays use Mercedes-Benz’S latest MBUX software interface and rear-seat passengers get two 11.6-inch displays that can play movies or control the sound system. A Burmese audio system will be available and will feature some amazing 27 speakers.
Engine, transmission and performance
The GLS600’s dual turbocharger V8 generates 558 horsepower and can motivate the large luxury SUV from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, according to Mercedes-Maybach. The engine is assisted by a 48-volt hybrid system that provides an extra push from the start. If that’s not fast enough for you, check out the Mercedes-AMG GLS63, which offers a 603 hp version of this powertrain and features a 4.1-second claim at 60 mph. We haven’t driven the GLS600 yet, but we expect a silky smooth ride and an exceptionally quiet cabin. A pneumatic suspension is standard, and features a Maybach mode that is said to erase all bumps on the road.
Fuel economy and MPG in the real world
The EPA or Mercedes-Maybach have not released the fuel economy figures, but we are confident that the GLS600’s large spenders who will cross-shop against the likes of Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan will not be. too concerned with fuel efficiency.
Safety and driver assistance functions
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Highway Safety Insurance Institute (IIHS) have not tested the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 in crashes, but are unlikely to. Luxury vehicles of high volume and little money often do not undergo the same tests as, for example, a Toyota RAV4. A set of high-tech driver assistance features will be standard to help your driver on long trips. Key safety features include: Standard adaptive cruise Control with semi-autonomous driving mode. Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Standard lane departure warning and lane maintenance assistance.
Warranty and maintenance coverage
Mercedes-Maybach’s warranty coverage is fairly basic, but offers coverage for up to a year longer than the policies that come with the new Bentley. There is no scheduled maintenance included in the sale, but oil changes and tire rotations are another expense that we hope the owners of such an expensive SUV will find affordable when paying for them on their own. The limited warranty covers 4 years or 50,000 miles. The powertrain warranty covers 4 years or 50,000 miles. Free scheduled maintenance.
